The Analysis of the Existing System

The processes in preparing the payroll of the workers of Powercycle, Inc. are all in manual job. They are using calculators and typewriters in salary computation. In this case, it is the accountant who takes most of the risks during payday period in generating payroll report.

The system begins with the submission of the DTR or Daily Time Records by the assigned person to the assistant accountant. The assistant accountant will make the necessary report and computation including all the additional and deductions to the salary of their employees. This takes for two to three days to complete. The generated report will then pass to the accountant for rechecking. If errors or wrong computation were found, the generated report will turn back to the assistant accountant for correction. And if the report is well done, it will pass forward to the department head for approval. And finally, the approved payroll report will past to the cashier.

The Proposed System

The proposed system is a computer-based system with the used of Visual Basic 6.0 for windows. The system is technological as it offers faster, accurate and efficient salary computations adaptable for regular, casual and emergency-hired workers in the Accounting Department of the company. The existing payroll system of the company will be upgraded by implementing this proposed system as it makes the processing of payroll faster and with less difficulty. So thus, workers will receive their salary on time.

The proposed system offers proper file maintenance. It includes password for security purpose. It has a back-up plan and re-indexes files.

The proposed system like other well existing system is also user-friendly. The user need not study so much about the flow of the system because instructions to be followed in pursuing on this software are visibly provided on the screen monitor.
