Central Problem:

How to conduct an implementation plan that can increase the number of enrollees and decrease the amount of expenses in the St. Francis College of Commerce.

Objectives:

1.To serve as the official organization of Communication Arts students

2.To provide practical training experience in writing, speech communication, and theater arts through seminars and workshops;

3.To encourage appreciation of the arts and the humanities through participation in socio-cultural activities;

4.To promote academic excellence; and

5.To maximize participation in other fields.

Alternative Course of Action:

1. Appoint the senior faculty members to conduct a study that will observe similarities among department curricula. For 12 months the senior faculty will try to identify similar courses in each department. Those having the most similarities will be merged. 

Advantage: In this way, conflict between the new merging departments will lessen. Faculty members can still work closely and well together despite not having the same training and academic orientation because of the most similar courses of each department.

Disadvantage: Because the main problem is towards the business related courses, it will be difficult to trace the similarities between each department because some courses have the same subject but not projected the same way. This method needs time and extreme analysis of the senior faculty members to avoid hostile treatment between faculty members.

2. To conduct seminars and trainings to introduce the faculty with their new department.

Advantage: This enables cross-fertilization to one another and introduction to new colleagues. These also make the faculty members talk to one another and discuss different courses without difficulty and develop professionally without feeling inferior to the other.
