Teamwork can be described as cooperation or coordination on the part of a group of persons acting together to achieve a common goal. The University of Phoenix created Learning teams to help emphasizes teamwork as a way to help their students work well with others. Sometimes, in working with others, things don’t always go as planned whereby a dispute may arise between learning team members. However, learning teams are encouraged to develop a charter which includes specific clauses which will enable them to resolve disputes among learning team members in a constructive and productive manner. This is called an Alternative Dispute Resolution.
This Alternative Dispute Resolution clause shall make an attempt to settle all Team member differences or disputes that arises between the assigned Learning Team members. Disputes shall be in reference to any team member disregard for the policy and procedures documented in the learning team charter. The ADR process shall be enabled when the disputes has caused a loss of productivity and efficiency within the normal function of the Team. As a prerequisite to enter this group, all members must agree to participate in mediated negotiation by a selected Learning Team member. Be it known that, in any dispute, the first attempt at a negotiated resolution shall be verbal, through emails, texts, or Learning Team forums between the involved parties. In the event that the initial attempt to resolve the dispute between the involved team members does not work, those individuals shall submit a written notice of non resolution to the remaining team members not involved in the dispute.
