Family Led Prayer

Materials needed:

1. One tall candle and smaller ones enough for all.

2. Bible

3. Flowers

Suggested time: Day 2 before breakfast

PRAYER PROPER

(Gather in the living room and sit around a small table where an unlit tall candle, an open Bible and some flowers are placed.)

Call to prayer and words of welcome

Leader: Let us remember that when we gather in God’s name, God is in our midst.

In the days that we will be together in this house, let us pray that it will be days of listening to one another and opening ourselves to one another for us to get to know each other deeply and lovingly.

Lighting of the big candle

Let us welcome God’s presence, God’s light. Let us sing One Little Candle. (While singing, light up the big candle.)

ONE LITTLE CANDLE...
