Determining the Perfect Position
USAgencies Inc., a property and casualty insurance company in the state of Louisiana produces and provides dependable insurance coverage every year. There exist several job positions in USAgencies that require people with excellent leadership skills to fill in its expansion and restructuring program. Among these jobs are district manager and regional manager among others. The knowledge of the attributes that one has will be of great help to define and determine the best role to play that will enhance great success to the organization.
Leadership Experience
As a valued veteran employee of USAgencies Inc., the expansion and restructuring presents all employees with a unique opportunity of determining the position that best suits and benefits the employees of the company. Shoemaker (2003) demonstrates that leadership consists of arising to the initiative to assist in bringing newer ideas and organization into a business. By being an experienced employee, I have some knowledge of the vision and mission statement of the organization in addition to complete knowledge of the daily operations and process of not only the company but the department as well. Identifying ones strengths and weaknesses, a personal leadership style will assist one in the defining processes for which position will be a perfect fit.
Self-Assessments
By taking several assessments, it made me aware of my leadership style. Based on the results from the assessment, I am a people oriented leader opposed to a task oriented leader. To be a successful leader, I should be able to connect and understand the emotional needs and behavior of individuals within the team. By doing this, I will be able to encourage and create a friendly environment for individuals to complete assigned tasks.
