Figure 6: reference source average scores for each respective factor

Figure 6 shows the result of average scores for each respective factor that have been dominated by interest and job prospect factors. According with questionnaire result, every factor has 5 questions base on 1 to 5 scales from 1 equal to disagree to 5 equal to strongly agree. Interest and job prospect are the majority factors for course selection among student according to their highest average score. Interest factor scores an average score of 304 with 5 questions. Question 1 score = 360, score of question 2 = 312, question 3 scores = 314 and question 4 and 5 with 288 and 256 respectively. Add all 5 scores then divide it by 5 (5 refers to how many questions) and we get the total average score of 304 with 31%. Question 1 for interest factor win the most strongly agreed question by scoring the highest among other questions which is it state “I choose my course based on my skill and talent in that course”.

Job prospect factor comes second in average score with 296 average score. As interest factor question, job prospect also has 5 questions with question 1 got 288 score, question 2 = 296, question 3 = 312 and question 4 and 5 with 272 and 312 respectively. With all that score, job prospect got total average score of 296 and equal to interest factor percentage 31%. The respondents that contribute to job prospect average score strongly agreed on question 3 that states “job prospect plays an important role in selecting university course for student”.

Family influence also one of the factors that affect student course selection, after we did our research family influence affect 26% from average score for each respective factor. Score of question 1 is 216, score of question 2 is 256, question 3 we got 288, question 4 176 and question 5 score is 320. The total average score is 251. The family supports on question 5 contribute the highest score.
