A key component between the three creation myths is the idea of separation. The idea of separation plays a vital element in the creation process, seen multiple times throughout the Bible; “God saw light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness” (Genesis 1:4), emphasizing creation of day and night. The idea of separation is further exploited as “God said, let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters” (Genesis 1:6), separating the land and sky. In the Mesopotamian creation myth Enuma Elish, the concept of separation is evident as Marduk separates Tiamat. The splitting of Tiamat in half, emphasizes the key aspect in the creation, symbolizing the formation of heaven and earth by placing one half above the other (REFERENCE). In relation, Hesiod Theogony demonstrates the concept of separation as Gaia was separated from Ouranos.
