Jesus and Muhammad are both very important figures in their respected religion. Jesus is said to be the Son of God in the Christian religion and Muhammad is said to be the Messanger of God in the Muslim religion.

Muhammad was born in Ka’bah in a poor clan to one of the most powerful tribes there were in Ka’bah, Muhammad had sad moments in his childhood, his father died before he was born, his mother, and grandfather both died when he was younger . After the deaths of his mother and grandfather he was left to live with his uncle. His uncle made him work as a shepherd. A Christian monk noticed Muhammad when he was a teenager in Syria and pointed out that he had identifying marks on his body to suggest that he was a prophet. When Muhammad was 25 years old he married Khadijah who was a beautiful, intelligent, and wealthy woman. She was very supportive of Muhammad. When Muhammad was forty years old Gabriel, an angel came to him at a retreat during Ramadan and told him to recite the words that became the first words of the Qu’ran. When Muhammad began to preach publicly he was riduclued and stoned. Him and his followers were banished to a desolate place. After 3 years Muslims were asked to come back to Mecca. When Muhammad was in his fifties he lost his wife and his uncle who was very protective of him. When he lost his wife and uncle the persecution of him as a Prophet got worse. Muhammad and his followers secretly left Mecca and moved to Yathrib to help them figure out social and political problems. Muhammad helped by drawing up a constitution for the City of Yahrib/Medina. Mecca waged war on Medina for fear that Muhammad and his followers were going to take over and destroy Mecca. After several battles between the people of Mecca and the people of Medina, Muhammad drew up a truce between the two cities. Muhammad returned triumphantly to Mecca in 630 CE with a lot of followers.
