Who Moved My Cheese? Report

The book, Who Moved My Cheese, is a story about change in life, work, personal issues, and how different people find alternative methods in coping and understanding change. The word "Cheese" is the title is in fact a metaphor, standing for what people in their daily life work for. It can also be understood as many other things, such as something that makes a person happy, like a morning jog or success in life. The story follows five main classmates, and takes place at a class reunion between these characters. There are also a set of other characters portrayed in the story. Two of these characters, Hem and Haw, are announced as little people, or humans that are about the size mice. The other two characters, Snif and Scurry, are in fact mice. The book is not divided in chapters, but instead in three sections, each taking place at a separate part of the story.

The story begins with the friends at a gathering at lunch, during a high school reunion. These characters are named, Angela, Nathan, Carlos, Michael, and Jessica. They begin a discussion about change and how it takes place in each of their lives. Though each person had taken different directions with their own life, they all had to cope with and understand daily change. Each of them tells a different story, eventually bringing up the subject about a story that changed Michael's outlook on change, and on his own life. Michael agrees to tell the story to his peers, which begins the next section of the book.

The section following the gathering begins with our other main characters in the book, the mice and the little people. Each day Snif and Scurry worked together to find cheese in a labyrinth type maze, while Hem and Haw followed the same process.
