The process of meiosis creates greater genetic diversity more quickly than a sexual reproduction does because, sexual reproduction combines the genes of two parents who usually differ in some number of alleles to produce an off spring. Differences in alleles are the basis of differences in traits. Asexual reproduction states many forms, but in general, the genetic material of only one parent is included in the next generation. Cloning, in which a plant reproduces itself by sending out stolon’s or off shoots, for example, is a famous form of asexual reproduction.

In sexually reproduction, the genetic material of two parents is combined. Before that, the genetic heritage of each parent is mixed and then halved, in a process called meiosis. Sexual reproduction beat encourages diversity and is more adaptive than a sexual reproduction is. Environments change. The climate gets hotter, wetter, or drier. New predators may appear, or new diseases. In order to meet these changes, a species need to have as much diversity as possible available within its population. The successful traits will prevail, but currently unsuccessful traits will remain in the population in small numbers or as a recessive gene.

In asexual reproduction, the genetic material of only one parent contributes to the offspring, in a process called mitosis, which maintains the parental chromosome number. Asexual reproduction is faster. In reproduction by cloning or cellular fusion, every member of a population can produce offspring. Obviously, population can be twice as fast. If the parent is adapted to the environment and does not change. An adaptive trait tends to spread more quickly through a sexually reproducing population than through as asexually reproducing one. In asexual reproduction, new combinations of traits can a rise only by mutation.

When conditions are changing, sexual reproduction shuffles the genetic deck, and their diversity offers then flexibility; a better chance at surviving. Just...
