POPULATION, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT ISSUES IN THE PHILIPPINES

Population, health and environment (PHE) issues is indeed the highlight of the challenges Philippines is now facing. Not only now that these concerns come across but the fact that it’s been there for several years, why does these issues keep on being part of the difficulty that encumber our country?

POPULATION AND HEALTH ISSUES: By the year 2025, CALABARZON is expected to grow to approximately 16Million people. ―It is quite amazing. But it’s even more astonishment to feel and think where this 16 M people would reside and make their living.

Moreover, forty-eight percent of the married women in CALABARZON use some form of contraception while only one-third use modern contraception. ― 48% is a huge portion already of married women who uses contraception, meaning they are aware that life nowadays is not that easy that’s why they are trying to control the number of children that they have. Good for this married women that they are aware of such things, at the same time their health will be guaranteed if their pregnancy has a gap of as much as 3 years.

ENVIRONMENT ISSUES: Response to this challenge stated from the article are: Laguna Lake Development Authority’s partnerships with multiple stakeholders throughout Laguna to protect the lake and its watershed, DENR and pollution control officers (PCOs) that work closely to implement effective environmental management and protection strategies, ecological waste management systems, toxic chemical and hazardous waste management, The Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 and The Marine Law Enforcement Campaign which was launched 2003. ― Lots of organizations are showing their adherence to our environment, yet I am not sure if each and every one of us is mature enough to think the same way as they are. Though there are still lots of environmental programs that are about to launch, why are individuals like us hesitant to do our own move and action?...
