While taking the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory Assessment I realized that this assessment shows you a lot about who you are and what you believe and your affect on society. My belief that we have a moral duty or obligation to do what is right leaves little room for compromise when ethical principles are involved. I believe that fostering personal growth takes precedence over achieving efficiency through dehumanizing organizational and social structures. So I feel policies will ensure equal respect and opportunities for all in business and personally.

Before I started my educational goal, I never thought about ethics or ethical thinking or at least I did not realize I was thinking ethically. I always thought about doing things that was right and fair. It was not until I began this educational journey at University of Phoenix did ethics and thinking ethically come to my attention.

Ethics is a big part of thinking and decision-making, whether it is for personal use or for business use. Some people think and make decisions based on how the out come will make them look or to get a certain result regardless of the consequence. I think that ethics in thinking and decision making should be based on doing the right thing for everyone involved. I know in business some conflict will arise with other people because I will be trying to do what is morally right. I would look for the intent behind the action. I feel the ethical principles should be appropriate for the situation, be respectful of human dignity, and be committed to promoting individual freedom. Where as someone else would make decisions in order to build his or her ego or to get a certain result regardless of who he or she hurts or what consequences may occur.
