I am not a very religious person, but my family is. Every year my family goes out to celebrate Easter at the big church event; I usually decide to stay at home or do something else with my time. I live near very close to a local Catholic church named St. Augustine’s. Very recently they had a big event to celebrate Easter, and I thought it was a great opportunity to experience a religious celebration, especially since I hadn’t stepped foot inside a church for more than 6 years. St. Augustine’s is a very nice church that was recently completely renovated.

The last time I had set foot inside that church, it was a green building that didn’t look much like a church, the parish house was also very homely and overall it screamed to be renovated. After the renovations that were recently done, the church looks great. There is a new brick entrance and access for disabled persons. The parish home was also renovated and looks very nifty. If the entire church was renovated in such a way, I was thinking the Easter celebration had to be big in some way.

Easter Sunday I headed over to the church, not knowing what to expect, people walking around me were holding these yellowish branches, I had no idea what they were used for. I went inside the church and saw the church inside for the first time in 6 years. I was taken aback at how beautiful the church looked; it was also decorated in a wonderful way. The branches the people were holding were also put all around the church as decoration, the entire church was set in a white theme, almost as to represent the purity of the day. The humongous Christ on the cross statue that was inside the church was covered in a white veil as well.

The church was extremely crowded that day and it almost seemed as if people were in line outside just to be able to get a view at the celebration, the church isn’t exactly big, I would say it fits a good 2,000 people, but that day it seemed as if there were 3,000 because the streets outside were...
