About Sarva Vikas Deep

Sarva Vikas Deep (SVD) is a registered Non Government Organization based in Mangaon block, Raigad District, Maharashtra, 130 km from the city of Mumbai. The district has a total population of twenty two lakhs is the tribal population, out of which the primitive tribe Katkaris, constitutes the major chunk. The Katkaris are landless agricultural labourers. Due to their landless status they are prone to migrate in search of livelihood to distant places as brick kiln labourers and construction workers

The agency is working with BPL people but mainly focusing on tribe in the region. They are working on different issues like livelihood generation (SHGs, fisheries co-operative, goat rearing), making of caste, ration card, birth and death certificate, education for tribal children at brick kilns areas, food security and Forest Right Act, 2006.
