1.0 Introduction

Business Ethics

Business ethics in the workplace is about moral values for the workplace and ensuring behaviours are aligned with those values. Furthermore, business ethics largely concentrates on the moral standards as people apply to business policies, institutions and behaviour. Business ethics recognizes different kinds of issues which are systemic, corporate and individual. Systemic issue in business ethics are the ethical issues raised about the economic, political and other social systems inside the businesses operate. Corporate issues in business ethics are the ethical issues raised about a particular company. Ultimately, individual issues in business ethics are ethical questions raised about a particular individual or particular individuals within a company. Therefore, business ethics, in other words, is a form of applied ethics. It comprises not only the analysis of moral norms and moral values, but also tries to apply the conclusions of the analysis to institutions, technologies, transactions, activities and pursuits. Business ethics are becoming more important in the workplace.

In actuality, the concept of business ethics has come to mean a variety of things to different people, but it has commonly come to know what it is right or wrong to a certain profession. This is in regard to the effects of products/services and relationships with stakeholders.
