• What are the positive aspects of stereotypes, if any?
If I were to say that stereotyping had any positive effects, then I guess I would have to use the example of, the push for equal rights be cause of it. Stereotyping has and more than likely always will be an issue the we face in everyday life. However, with all the negativity that is involved with stereotyping, it has created a unified fight, and pursuit for equality for all races, genders, and religious groups.
• What are the negative aspects of stereotypes?
Unfortunately most stereotyping has nothing but negative affect. Whats even more discouraging is that these opinions are passed down to people at a very young age. With the majority having a closed minded approach to the world around them, and the people in it, they then too pass those thought and opinons to their children. Sadly, we will never be able to rid our nations issue of prejudice and sterotyping. We can only hope to inform and educate so that we can contain it.
