Human Service Manager Exercise Paper
The Human Service Management professional works closely with individuals of diverse population groups and backgrounds. Each client will be able to benefit from a specific theoretical model intervention strategy being used by the professional’s discretion. The position of the human service manager is to assist clinicians in the case of not being able to help their clients due to lack of understanding and knowledge.
In this paper, there will be three different scenarios. A different situation will be addressed within all given scenarios. For improvement purposes, it is the human service manager’s duty to assist in accommodating all issues related to the company. The three approaches for handling these situations are reinforcement, refer and release.
The approach of reinforce can be used if a clinician lack expertise in a particular sector of the job. The clinician may only need to work on specific improvement areas that will help promote and enhance the efficiency of the professional’s work. Conducting research and reviewing past cases in the field can give the clinician a broader view and outlook on a given situation. Clinicians tend to learn best from the coaching and monitoring of a mentor.
Refer is the second approach. A clinician may need to be referred to personal counseling by a human service manager. Personal therapy is meant to help clinicians better assist their clients effectively. The most difficult and final approach is release. The human service manager is subject to firing the clinician due to illegal activites, no improvement, or abusing the company’s policy.
