Outsourcing is a practice of having certain job functions done outside a company instead of having an in-house department or employee handle them; functions can be outsourced to either a company or an individual. (http://www.entrepreneur.com). Call Center outsourcing is having an individual or company, other than your own employees; handle the inbound - outbound calls back to customers.

Major cause

One of the leading causes for call center outsourcing is cost. Outsourcing business processes can be a very cost efficient way of dealing. Hiring professionals to work in house can be very costly, especially dealing with recruitment and operational costs. Companies have to provide buildings to house the staff; they have to pay for utilities and long distance phone services. Along with salaries, companies are providing fringe benefits, which are very costly. This is the most important factor when companies decide to outsource their business processes. Reduced operational and recruitment costs: Outsourcing eliminates the need to hire individuals in-house; hence recruitment and operational costs can be minimized to a great extent. This is one of the prime advantages of offshore outsourcing. (www.inso.us )  Outsourcing work to expert individuals or companies makes for quality work and speedy turnaround times. Those companies are highly trained to perform specific function fast and accurate. When you outsource your call center you can focus on the other areas that might need improvement within the organizations. So you can use the resources that are freed up as a result of outsourcing.
