Introduction

Change is never easy or without its obstacles. While most employees do not become excited when changes occur, it is still important that every employee participates in the changing process. This is especially true of health care employees. For the health care industry to grow and change with the times, changes are a necessary occurrence. Change is a multi-step process. There are several ways that change can be approached. “The capacity to change is embraced by organizational transformation and initiatives sustained are representative of learning organizations” (Johnson, 2009). The health care organization will go through a learning process in order to make the changes successful. Although it will be a lot of work, the process will greatly benefit the health care organization.

Mary Marlborough Disability Service

The Mary Marlborough Disability Service helps care for people with physical disabilities that need special care and rehabilitation (Strohl, 2006). This organization implements the transformational changes into their organization. Services are offered at locations providing patients with rehabilitation services through means such as specialized equipment that meet each patient’s individual needs. There is a big change in the way that people with disabilities are viewed in society. This organization has worked with those changes in order to provide patients the care that they need and deserve.

There are often problems that accompany ever changing organizations. Financial records showed the company was at one time running without making profit. Management was likely to blame for this problem. Management was not defined nor were the responsibilities laid out clearly. Workers shared numerous jobs under one title. This lead to workers being spread thin which lead to responsibilities being over looked. There was little accountability. Communication failed.
