Comparing Christianity and Hinduism

My essay is about the comparison between Christianity and Hinduism and this has to do with their similarities and differences. I am going to be comparing their dressing, types of food they eat, place of worship, beliefs, and symbols.

Christianity and Hinduism are both old religions and have been in existence for thousands of years. The first difference between Hinduism and Christianity is that Hinduism embraces Christianity as a valid religion whereas the Bible does not. Hinduism is a religion that supports tolerance; it teaches that all religions are different parts leading to one goal. Hinduism accepts all religions as valid, while Christianity on the other hand teachers that Jesus Christ is the only son of God and that he is the only path to God. Christians have a holy book called the Bible which teaches them the way of God and how to live a holy life, while Hindus have a holy book called Vedas which they read holy hymns from.

A similarity between Christianity and Hinduism reveals ancient practices which appear similar. In Hinduism, we find that repentance from sin is done through sacrifice to an enraged God. The sacrifice is usually an animal. Hindus preach a divine commandment of righteousness and failure to comply requires a penalty. This ancient instinct to make repentance to wrong doings suggests that a book in the Bible called Roman 2:14-15 is true “Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them”. The act of these sacrifices for sin is found in Christianity. Both Hinduism and Christianity preach a divine commandment of perfect righteousness and that we are held accountable of our sins or wrong doings. The difference is that Christians preaches...
