American history is an important part of the many lives that exist in this world today. Without history we would never understand where we come from, the purpose of what we are doing and how we are going to get to where we are going. The impact of history has paved the road for a brighter future for many of that are still living in this 21st century generation. There are several areas that stood out to me during the study of American history. One area of importance was the industrial area. Although, this a positive thing for America, it cause some chaos for the American people. It was really hard for people to adapt to the many changes that industrialization bought. This was also a time when immigration was on the rise within the country which was very hard for those that were considered to be middle class. The changes during the industrial age bought about a social divided as well. The main efficient was the fact the industrial age required skilled workers which during that time many people were not, which made it hard for them to take care of their families. The biggest issue was the fact that machinery was now taking the place of people. Factories did not need as many bodies to work because the machine was now doing the job that they were doing.

Another important area in history was the civil rights movement. Of course this area was important for being of African American decent. During this time African Americans were able to receive the level of education that others of other races were able to receive. African American receive the right to vote and work and sit where ever they wanted to on a city bus. This error in history was the beginning change for many people. Not just African Americans but other minorities as well. The civil rights movement help abolish segregation within the schools, restaurants and other public places.
