International Trade and Brazil’s Economy: How International Trade has helped the Brazilian economy

In the past century, with the development of the technology and transportation, trade stepped up to the international level, which improved globalization. Brazil has been taking advantage of international trade, since it has helped Brazil’s overall economy. The trades of coffee, mining, extraction, and agriculture have been helping Brazil’s economy.

The common view of Brazil is a country known for the Amazon Forest, beautiful beaches, and beautiful fashion models. However, Brazil is also a growing economy that has a lot of potential to explode in the next decade, specially with the Fifa World Cup and the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil has been blessed with an immeasurable amount of natural resources such as natural gas, petroleum, mining, and agricultural land. Brazil is also a giant in the coffee, mining, and automotive industry. Knowing this information is important and sometimes necessary for people and businessman that are considering trading with Brazil.

Getulio Vargas, the fourteenth president of Brazil was a big name in the 1920’s when Brazil was going through a bad season in the coffee industry. Getulio Vargas made it possible for farmers from Mina Gerais to keep the high coffee production and the normal prices while coffee export was not doing good. Jucelino Kubitschek was the 21st president that brought the automobile industry in late 1950 and he led Brazil through a steady growth during his presidency. However, Jucelino Kubitschek generated great controversy because of corruption. Fernando Henrique Cardoso, the 34th president and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva “Lula”, the 35th president were also great names for the Brazil’s international trade growth and success from early 90s until the present time.
