Introduction The following paper describes the experiences and efforts I gained from the Reflect Best Self Exercise called RBS. The theoretical background of this exercise provides the positive organization scholarship. It is built on the psychological fact that people react better to praise than to criticism. In contrast to the traditional feedback mechanism the RBS focus on the individual weaknesses and strength of each person. Consequently I got aware of my strength as a first step in this exercise. Furthermore I learned to understand the benefits and potential of my own talents in order to think about redefine and optimize my job environment to contribute best to my individual strength. Analysis and observation At the beginning of the exercise I felt uncomfortable to request and receive only positive feedback because I was not used to do this. I had the doubt that it can be interpreted as arrogance. Moreover before I got in touch with the RBS I had the thinking that feedback in the form of personal weaknesses is the most valuable concerning the personal progress. My focus was to eliminate my weaknesses instead of improving my strengths. Because of this I underestimated the value and personal benefit of the RBS and its positive feedback approach. Mostly I was astonished from the motivation and fast reaction of the participants I contacted. In most cases I got a call from the people I requested. They asked me about detail s of the RBS and the aims I intend to reach with this exercise. Finally they were pleased about the fact that I choose them with this personal topic.
