This April, my team put the FUN in Fundraising with another fantastic Junior Achievement Bowl a Thon. On top of that, we had an Easter basket raffle, Crack the egg contest, pizza night and a grill out that raised over $500! With the fun and hard work, Junior Achievement is my personal favorite nonprofit causes.

JA is a fantastic organization that helps foster business concepts that children in our country really need. US Bank has been a long time sponsor and this will be the 4th year of my involvement with the Bowl a Thon. I first became involved with JA back in high school. The time I spent in my "company" was a great learning experience. The mentors I had exposed me to best practices that one day would prove to be useful in my life. My mentors every year were smart professionals that made me want to succeed. They inspired me in many ways.

I have all those wonderful memories but my personal bonus is meeting my wife Lucrecia there. We were in the same company for a whole year before we actually spoke. We have been married for eighteen years and love JA for it. This year is the 20th anniversary of when my wife and I met.

Twenty years later, Junior Achievement has under gone some changes but the main mission of hands-on, experiential programs to teach the key concepts of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to young people is still going strong.
