Quality Maintenance Technician II
The Job orientation for a Quality Maintenance Technician II (QMT2) is different than other jobs orientation. The QMT Orientation takes 6 weeks for the technician to be ready for the work that he/she will be doing. If the QMT does not have this 6 week orientation they will sure to fail at their job. The following is a break down for the orientation that a QMT 2 goes through.
Week 1 Day 1
* The QMT will meet with the District Facility Maintenance Manager (DFM) at the District office to get things on the way. The DFM will assign the QMT obtain an E-mail address for the new hire. Once the QMT has the e-mail address then the DFM will input the information into the Sears Maintenance Area Repair Technician (SMART) so the new technician will have access to.
* DFM will have the QMT fill out the paper work for the Sears Corporate Credit Card and gain access to the Concur system to get road mileage paid.
* After gaining access to the Concur system the DFM will give the QMT the travel Policy.
* After getting access the Smart system the DFM will assign the new QMT store that he/she will be taking care of. This could range from 2 to 5 stores.
* The DFM will so the QMT how to enter in work orders and how to complete the work orders in the SMART system
* Then the DFM will get access to the Pebble and get the QMT set up and go over the importance of this system.
* DFM will take the new QMT shirt, and pants sizes and order the QMT their shirts, pants, jackets, hats, coveralls and all the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* The DFM will give the new QMT the names and number of the other QMT’s in the district that he/she could call if problems rise after the 6 weeks are over. Then the DFM will give the QMT 2 the Phone numbers to the national and local...
