PM587 Insight Paper Name:------Date------2 Our group consisted of Jacqui Gutierrez, Moises Altares, and Ime Johnson. Our task, as team members, involved the application of the tools and techniques of multi-project/program management. As part of the process, we were to deal with the analysis and establishment of project management systems based on the structure of the project and organization. We were also expected to expend some effort to observe and analyze our own team’s group process and group dynamics, and within that scope address such areas as team member roles and responsibilities, delegation, decision making, leadership, conflict resolution, etc. The Team Paper was to be approached in two parts: Part I presented us with the challenge of designing a Portfolio Management process by which our Strategic Business Unit (SBU) would make decisions on what projects would fit into its current portfolio. Part II followed with the inclusion of an important new project bringing a twist to the existing portfolio process. Using the portfolio management process we had proposed, we were to determine whether to proceed with the additional project as well identify the impact on the rest of the program. At the first meeting, just the two of us in attendance, we decided on In-N-Out Burger – a family owned burger ” store” – founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Hills, California where they opened the first California drive-thru restaurant. Having the project split into parts for submission could have helped to prioritize our work from the start, but there was a slight difficulty; and that was in the availability of accessible data to keep us in line with In-N-Out Burger’s strategy.
