Dear Professor Miller:

Following this letter is the assigned formal report which discusses the lack of essential work skills the new generations of workers are struggling with. I believe that certain changes could be implemented by both parents and professors so as to develop and establish basic work skills in order to help them achieve success in their careers. Changes include:

* Helping parents to establish interpersonal and communication skills at an early age, and emphasizing the importance of teaching children compassion, along with accountability and punctuality.

* Showing educators how to make changes to their curriculums and develop ways to incorporate real-life workplace scenarios to further refine these sets of skills, such as teamwork and time management.

* Finding ways to help educators determine the important skills for certain carreer paths as well as the overall ever-changing job market so that their teachings maintain effectiveness.

Various studies suggest the importance of establishing a well-defined set of skills when entering the job market after college. Unfortunately, teenagers and college graduates are not coming out with these well-defined skills and it is affecting their ability to compete. Illustrating various strategies that parents and educators can adopt will help the new generation compete, which leads to a stronger overall workforce.

Thank you for the opportunity to complete my research on such an important topic. It will certainly help the students who require assistance in firming their grasp of essential work skills for today’s competitive environment.
