It is important to understand which possible disasters may occur, it is also important to devise a plan which will have the least amount of impact on the company without being a financial disaster. The first step in recovery from a disaster is to have backups of all important data. It is extremely important that backups of the vital information are performed routinely so in the event of a catastrophic disaster the data is not lost and the company can live on. It is also very important to carry the correct insurance for your company so extreme out of pocket expenses can be avoided. This can be the difference between a company surviving a disaster and failing due to that disaster. This insurance could include but is not limited to things like flood insurance, fire insurance, acts of nature converge and so on. The types of insurance can cater to each company’s individual needs. There are also company’s which will bring generators and computers or basically any other need a high tech company could have. These services could be used in tandem with insurance so the company would be able to recover quickly and without great cost.

There are many different ways that a person can backup important files and folders which are the key to that businesses success. Tape drives can be used as an inexpensive yet affect tool for retaining data in case of emergency. Tapes can also endure fairly tough elements and still hold the data without loses which make them a good tool for travel. Backups can be made on blank DVD-r s and CD-s s either via Window’s on board recovery and restore center or with a third party application which are readily available on the internet. External drives can also be for backup space as they have recently come down in price and have become pretty reliable. Data can be saved in multiple places or even on a thumb or flash drive.
