Administrative Ethics

When it comes to administrative ethics issue in healthcare organization, it is a subject matter that is not easy to deal with that is because it covers a lot of interpretation. It is an ongoing study, which any administrator of an organization has to face and work on it each day. It is one process by, which an administrator has to regulate a development of action assessed in the setting of workplace. In the healthcare industry, there is a growth of information structure and the enlarged participation of groups when it comes to decision making regarding disclosure and the publication of complex information for health care personnel who are in perception of public trust.

Administrative ethics has the responsibility in dealing with the mandate by Federal regulations on Health Insurance Portability and Accounting act (HIPAA) that the implementation put in effect in 2003. This mandate provides the increase access to the patient medical records and regulates who else may see them. This new regulations has cause numbers of allegation for health transmission and trigger a deal of argument. One of the allegations comprises the obligation to notify patient’s privacy regulations. It is in the awareness of the health care administration the seriousness of this mandate. The violation of the mandate regulation is a serious offense and can damage to the health care providers or other companies that violates the compliance of HIPAA. As of 2003, HIPAA privacy rule preserves the privacy of patients protected health information (PHI), then on 2005, HIPAA security implemented to prevent, detect contain and correct security violations and on 2009, Hi-Tech Act strengthen the standards for all protected health information.
