Human Service Organization: Salvation Army

The Salvation Army vision and mission is a slice of the worldwide Christian church with a message of Biblical basis. The Army’s ministry finds motivation in the truth of God and its charge is to share the Gospel while meeting needs in His name without discrimination or bias. The Salvation Army is a forerunner in Christian faith-based human services with a commitment to serve the complete person: body, mind, and spirit with honesty, respect, and integrity through innovative solutions that positively alter lives. With its desire to “do the most good,” The Salvation Army embodies Christian love and compassion through its outreach programs and assistance given to the hurting and down-trodden (The Salvation Army, 2013).

The Salvation Army is not governed however, Salvation Army that have been assess in receiving a high degree from “American Institute of Philanthropy” (AIP) based on their monetary accomplishment. AIP associates must be conscious with the purpose of the organization needs an independent board. AIP supports all devout and spiritual nonprofit organizations to show excellent supremacy by choosing by ballot an external board of directors that reliable predominate associates who do not get any reimbursement or other monetary profits that the organization is counseling. Else nonprofit administrators might tempt to put their personal importance above the great concerns of the organization. The nonexistence of external administrators at any nonprofit might too cause major difficulty by sweeping it underneath the carpet and doing away with community examining what is going on (AIP 2013). The Salvation Army has a nationwide counseling board and each neighboring division has its own counseling board.
