SPEECH ADRESSED TO THE HIGHSCHOOL GRADUATES

My respect to the school principal, heads of different departments, faculty and staff, visitors, to the loving and supportive parents who are here right now and of course to the graduates, a pleasant morning to all. It is such a great privilege and honor for me to stand here in front of you and witness this kind of celebration.

If life is full of journeys, high school is one of that journeys that was experienced and completed by all of us. High school life is a memorable time for most people, for me as well. I remember the time which I have to burn my midnight candle just to memorize all those scientific terms, the moment which I have to raise my hand just to answer the question to get points and those ticks when I have to wake up early just to study my lesson. High school was a bit hard. I still have a recurring dream of showing up for the final day of exams and thinking I'd missed a years’ worth of classes, drawing a blank as all my classmates briskly filled in their answers. My heart raced as the teacher utter those “10,9 8, 7” when I’m still half way of the questions. Everytime the report card was given it ‘caused me to shake with fear. I considered it as my greatest enemy but on a deep thought I sighed and said “I must not fight with my future” I must work hard to have high grades. I’m not saying that High School life was a burden to me thus far it gives me so much motivation for my yet to come.

After four years of high school, the graduation ceremony and party can be seen as a celebration of accomplishments of students for their study and the start of a new journey. The previous night of my graduation, I was so excited that I had completed my high school and I was going to have a new life. At the same time, I felt sad that all of us were separated as we would advance our studies at different places. Some will study abroad and some will continue their journey at the same place.
