Research Strategy

Time management is an issue in my day-to-day life due to work constraints, family time, and school. Determining how too affectively allocate my time between the three issues has proven to be a job within itself. Generally, time management refers to the development of processes and tools that increase efficiency and productivity. One goal is to help myself become aware of how I use my time as I am resource in organizing, prioritizing, and succeeding in my studies in the context of competing activities my friends, work, family, etc.

Determining a place where I can study free from distraction where I can maximize my concentration and I can be free of the distractions that friends, family, or hobbies can bring.  I have planned places a as back-up space that I can escape to, like a coffee shop, local library even work where I have many conference rooms I can use when necessary.  I try to change where I study from time to time as to give myself the time I need to complete assignments and reading.

I have learned to prioritize my schedule by creating a to do list in regards to organizing work, school, and family. It was important for me heading back to school to define my goals with my husband and family surrounding my continued education. However, my goal setting is particularly important to me as I have a family at home to manage. Therefore, setting definite goals for myself, not only will I be able to better work towards achieving my aspirations, but my family will also be knowledgeable about what it is I want to achieve. Moreover, goal setting can help me to cut back on activities that are not contributing to my family or education. 

When I am managing a family and juggling schoolwork, it can often seems like I do not have enough time in the day to get everything done. Although I have created a schedule, I can be sure to get the time needed to do my schoolwork and have time leftover to be with my family.
