The negative effective on online gaming

1. Social Life

Nowadays, there are more and more young people attracted by online gaming. Leung(2004), states that people who play online games excessively they will lose passion and interest in other activities, especially social activities. Furthermore, players were confidence confidence which they could not get in real life (Young, 2009). Besides, Griffiths (2010) claims that access online gaming can restrict psychosocial development. Peters & Malesky (2008) further explain that surfing the internet too much may lead user to having problem on determining different between reality and virtual world. In addition, a report by Hussainz & Griffiths (2009) found that there are some cases which show that if gamers are influenced by online games, they seldom join day-to-day social activities. For example, they spend most of their spare time on the internet instead of going out with their friends or families so the relationship between their families and friends would be disrupted. In some extreme cases, some players even had been split up with their partner. The report also illustrates that people are unsociable, even antisocial in real life.

2. Education & Learning

The article, Online Gaming Addiction and Treatment Issues for

Adolescents, (Young 2009) states that teenager being addicted to the internet would be a barrier on study. These people tend to leave their studies. Another report by Peng & Liu (2010) also state that teenagers have tendency to skip class, receive lower marks and give poor performance in schools since they are addicted to accessing online gaming. Hussain & Griffiths (2009) state that young people give up studying because of too much online gaming. In addition, according to Young (2009), the players do not concentrate on study
