Abstract
The focus of this paper was to research the background of government regulation and its relation to American business and ultimately how corporate communications are affected by it. Through research of academic, peer reviewed journal articles covering a wide variety of topics on government regulations and business interaction, this paper will provide insight into way we arrived at our present day way of life. The articles provided details into the history, challenges, and benefits of working with the federal, state and local governments when pursuing industry objectives. This paper examines the many changes government has made throughout the years in the effort to protect the public and provide guidance for business to follow.
