Testing a Theory

In my lifetime, I have tested many theories. Some have been successful and some have failed. The theory that I have most recently tested will be discussed in this essay. This particular theory was tested prior to me becoming pregnant because if had continued with this particular, successful theory it would not be very health for my unborn baby boy, as weight loss in not recommended during pregnancy. The tested theory that I will be discussing is the successful attempt at weight loss.

Growing up, I was always a very slim, slender girl. I would even be teased that my body would eventually grow into my head and feet. I never had to worry about gaining too much weight or even having to lose a few pounds. I was always a very sports involved female, even into my adult age. Well, that all started to change after I turned thirty years old. I started to notice that my metabolism was not as fast as it used to be. I started to notice that the pounds were starting to stay on versus shedding off, like before. It is true when people, especially woman, say that the older you are the harder it is to lose weight. This is when I decided to make a change, I want to lose weight and I was determined to succeed. I tried many theories; juicing, extreme diets (no carbohydrates, high carbohydrates, no sugars and high protein), meal replacements and exercise. I was so determined to lose weight, which I kept a journal and noted everything I did with all the attempts of losing weight, very similar to how many researchers do. I believe that my theory testing was more on the experimental aspect of research because I would experiment with each weight loss option until I found the one that provided the most significant, safest results.
