* This week in MyFoundationsLab, I completed the assignment and mastered the subject but I did have some faults. I have never been very good at note taking, so now to learn at a college level is a little tough. I did pass the quiz with an 80% but a 100% would have been better. It did show me some various ways to manage my notes now though.

Identify the skills you’ve learned this week. How could each of these apply to your academic work? How could each of these apply to your professional work?

* Some skills I learned this week would be to set reading goals, how to annotate the text, how to pull from the reading the important part that deserves remembering. Academically these all apply and should be used throughout all of my courses. Reading goals can help me to make sure that I am completing the reading assignments weekly, and annotating the text helps prepare for taking the notes. Professionally I could use the reading goal to ensure that I read up on any particular program or item that I may be involved with at work that I don’t particularly understand. From that reading I will definitely annotate anything that needs to be remembered so that I can quickly reference it if I get stuck.

Describe the reading and comprehension strategies you will employ. How will these help make you a more effective reader?

* Some strategies I will use for reading will be to give myself a set number of pages to read each night, and to preview the reading before doing so. Making note of any words that I may not know, will be helpful too. These will all help me to stay on track and have a goal for each night and the whole week, so that I can be sure to get it all done.
