Executive Summary
One of the most hated chores in the United States is doing laundry. You have to do it, you can’t go around with dirty clothes, but it takes up a lot of time, putting the clothes in the washer, waiting for them to be done, transferring them to the dryer, waiting for them to be done and then you have to sort them out. It seems to take forever and let’s face it, it’s boring. There is nothing that is going to be made right now that magically cleans your clothes (unless you want to be one of those fancy people that sends their clothes out to be cleaned), but we wanted to create something that would at least make one step of the process a little bit easier.
The hardest part of sorting the laundry is matching up socks. You have to figure out what sock is the match to another sock and half the time, you can’t find the match, so you end up throwing away the unmatched, then a few weeks later, you find the sock you have been looking for. It’s infuriating. Most college students are living on their own for the first time and doing their laundry by themselves, for the first time, with all the other stressors in their lives at this moment, we wanted to create something that would save them time and save them from going completely crazy.
