McDonald’s was founded on May 15, 1940, by Richard and Mauice McDonald. The first McDonald’s was called McDonald’s Concepts. On April 15, 1955 McDonald’s Corporation was founded by Ray Kroc. McDonald’s is a giant fast-food restaurant that has there restaurants in almost every country. The mission statement is: “McDonald's brand mission is to be our customers' favorite place and way to eat and drink. Our worldwide operations are aligned around a global strategy called the Plan to Win, which center on an exceptional customer experience – People, Products, Place, Price and Promotion. We are committed to continuously improving our operations and enhancing our customers' experience (SWOT Analysis of McDonald's, 2013).”

Strengths:

When McDonald’s opens a new store it changes their menu to adapt to what country they are in. McDonald’s operates in many different country were food that we eat in US of European consumers are the same. This is a strength because it takes a lot of research for each country to see what kind of food they eat there. McDonald’s has the most diverse menu because they are in so many country’s that they probably have their own department that goes and build McDonald’s in different countries.

Strength for McDonald’s is that they target children. The way they get kids to come in is by offering toys, playgrounds, and happy meals. Targeting kids are probably the easiest people to get in there store because if they offer the right food, toys, and playgrounds then they will have kids in there all the time.

Weaknesses:

McDonald’s has a very unhealthy menu choice. McDonald’s has tried to add healthier food choices but it is not working. They say they are healthier food but all the food still has a lot fat and calories. McDonald’s can minimize this weakness by adding healthier foods.
