Objective:
Addressing the challenges of employee retention and recruitment within nursing home and dementia care patient care healthcare professionals; as well as, changes in customer characteristics, and the impact of policy changes in healthcare regulation.
Having training seminars are important for the assisted living community due to the constant changes in healthcare regulation, policy, patient quality of care and challenges of employee recruitment and retention. This seminar will focus on the following areas, changes in customer characteristics, regulation of the health care industry, reimbursement patterns and mandates regarding Medicare changes, restructuring of health care organizations, impact of technology within record keeping, and the ongoing social and ethical factors surrounding senior care.

Changes in customer characteristics
Demographic trends, such as the increasing numbers of baby boomers, Medicare beneficiaries, and those in the “old-old” population, will increase costs, placing a greater demand on public and social structures (AHRQ, n.d.). Corporate structure and governance, culture, and a focus on social responsibility can provide ways in which to improve this shortcoming.
