Introduction & Scope

Kudler Fine Foods is a gourmet grocery store founded in 1998 by Kathy Kudler. Since opening the first store, K. Kudler has expended to a total of 3 stores located in the San Diego, California area. “Kudler’s mission is Kudler Fine Foods is committed to providing our customers with the finest selection of the very best foods and wines so that your culinary visions can come true”. According to Kudler’s marketing overview, the stores have had solid growth and are now focused on “expanding the services, improving the efficiency of its operations and increasing the consumer purchase cycle as a means to increasing the loyalty and profitability of its consumers”. According to Service Request #SR-kf-013, Kudler Fine Foods is interested in developing a system to track customer purchases through a Frequent Shopper Program to award loyalty points for redemption. Team A will respond to Kudler’s service request #SR-kf-013. This report will define the scope and identify the key stakeholders for this request.

Scope

The scope of the project will define how information gathering will occur to understand the key drivers related to the system request. Key deliverables for the new system is to store customer activity and convert to rewards and other incentives as part of the customer loyalty program.

Transaction processing/Reporting/Tracking

The system will include a database that will track all items in and out of inventory to monitor consumer purchase cycles, preferences, and timing. Kudler is expanding services, one strategy is to offer parties in the store and show the customers how to prepare specialty foods.
