Writing Assignment

This Business Math class has been very interesting and informative! I have enjoyed the topics that we have discovered and the discussions boards very much. There were several topics that I found very interesting. I think that having knowledge of these topics will give me a greater understanding of the business world and will allow me to be more of a well-rounded candidate. There were so many topics that I have all ready used in my full-time employment. Some of the most interesting topics for me were learning about mode, median and standard deviation and how to accurately display statistical information. It was interesting learning how withholding is calculated and how that affects my paycheck that I bring home. Gaining knowledge on how interest is calculated on loans and mortgages and the various kinds of mortgages available was extremely valuable. I am in the process of setting up college education funding for my children so our chapter on annuities and calculating future value was of great interest to me.

This class was beneficial in my development as a student as there were lengthy readings, assignments and analysis that needed to be done per the course requirements. I found this class helpful in that in really forced me to become disciplined in my studies and time management. I think that much of the information that I discovered in the Business Math class make me a more knowledgeable and educated person and will have a benefit in my personal life as well! There were several concepts and key pieces of law that I was aware of and have heard about but wasn’t familiar with.

This class gave me a good foundation as I am continuing on with my pursuit of my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation in January, I plan on starting my studies towards my Master’s in Business Administration.
