Case # 1

The purpose of the analysis report is to review and determine what staffing practices should be

implemented to improve staffing functions of all Tanglewood stores. The goals of the organizations is to develop all staffing strategic within the organization and aligned with organization’s mission.

The recommendation in this report will be based on how strategic staffing decisions can enhance organization structures for all Tanglewood businesses.

There will be thirteen such decision discussed and how it will relate to the organization.

1.Acquire or Develop Talent: Tanglewood should focus it attention on developing it management talent. Since there seemed to be an inconsistency and considerable variation between managers and how they run their HR practices. Implement and design basic training across the board for all managers to follow.

2. Hire yourself or Outsource: Tanglewood should only outsource if employees can become a permanent employees of the organization. They can gain the knowledge and learn of the culture as they complete their daily task within the organization. However the organization has to make sure that they are able to participate in the organizations orientation program to get a feel of what the organization is al about.

3. External or Internal Hiring: Tanglewood main concern is for all employees to integrate into the organization’s culture and value then hiring should start internally where employees are aware of the organization’s functions. Hiring external if vacancies are not filled within.

4. Core or Flexible Workforce: Tanglewood should continue it’s focus on the organization’s core work force which consist of full and part time employees although Tanglewood views a core workforce as an important aspect for the organizational values and culture, hiring externally should be an alternative if not able to fulfill vacancies.
