AMERICAN

1. Philippine Independence Act, popularly known as the Tydings-McDuffie Act.

2. The free trade policy, which is the Payne-Aldrich Tarriff Act.

3. Simmons-Underwood Tarrif Act, which paved way to the complete free trade between USA and the Philippines.

4. Jones law of 1916, The USA promised to remove its authority and give the independence as long as the Philippines will be able to establish a stable government.

5. Filipinization Policy – Gradual replacement of Americans by Filipinos in government service.

6. The Philippine Bill of 1902 - Being Philippines as a colony of the USA.

7. The Cooper Act of 1902 – Provided for the creation of the Philippine Comission and the Philippine Assembly.

8. To administer Muslim Lands, the Department of Mindanao and Sulu was established as a unit of the American colonial Government

9. Education was given high regards.

10. Tydings-Mcduffy Law was established, it was a United States Of America Federal Law that grants the Independence of our country.

11. Inaguration of the Commonwealth.

For the Americans, they colonized our country to be able to give us the independence that we really need. They made use of this period of time to help us establish a stable government that will hopefully, grant our Independence.

JAPANESE

1. Bigasang Bayan (BIBA) – organized to control the procurement and distribution of rice and other cereals. Everyone was encouraged to plant vegetables in their backyards, especially kangkong.

2. Mickey Mouse Money – issued a flat currency in several denominations known as Japanese government issued Philippine Flat Money. It is called as “Mickey Mouse Money” because of its worthless.

3. They declared Manila as an open city, it was a means of saving the city from further loss of lives and destruction of properties brought about by military operations.
