An overview of the existing organization

Apple Incorporated, formerly Apple Computer, Inc., is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California. Apple was founded on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. In January 9, 2007, the word “computer” was removed from its name in a moved by the company to focus more toward computer electronics. Apple has currently more than 250 retail locations in 10 different countries (Brighthub, 2010). Apple® is recognized around the world for their technology products like iMac computers, iPod, iPad, and iPhones to name a few. At the current time, Apple products are available in more than 100 countries worldwide, and in the last decade its total sales have increased consistently.

Each year Apple’s innovative technology has become better making it more attractive to consumers and the company continues to research and invent new products to introduce to the market. In an opportunity to capitalize in the current multi-national platform that companies are operating worldwide, Apple has recognized the need for a product that will aid people from different countries to communicate with each other without speaking the other person’s language. By using their technology, Apple it is currently working on introducing to the market a new product called the I Translator.
