Innovation, design, and creativity can benefit YRMC to improve business efficiencies, introduce new products or services and gain competitive advantages. YRMC can achieve these benefits by introducing a new internship doctor program that has been assessed, accredited, and approved by the Medical Practitioners and the Ministry of Health. YRMC will have capacity to offer quality internship training to 15 doctors every year. YRMC facilitates and coordinates recruitment of trainees for the internships and advocates for their placement to YRMC. These trainings will be implemented in the form of workshops, seminars, conferences, and meetings. YRMC identifies gaps in member health units and decided to design training activities to address these gaps, working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other organizations in the health sector in Yuma.

Yuma doctors who have trained in other countries can also apply for the internship but must first obtain a temporary license from the Medical Board. YRMC will provide accommodation, training facilities including libraries, training, and mentorship as well as supervision and assessment after each session. The YRMC internship involves intensive skills development in four major clinical disciplines like Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics, and Gynecology.

YRMC will offer a planning and review meeting for the candidates attending the trainings. During the meeting, training progress by YRMC is presented, experiences shared and issues of concern and challenges addressed. After completing the internship training, doctors will be register and licensed to practice in Yuma. When the training has been successfully completed, the supervising consultants prepare assessment reports and recommendations to the Medical Board. The board reviews the report and approves registration of the doctors to practice medicine in Yuma. Successful candidates will be ready to join the labor market.
