Job satisfaction encompasses how employee’s attitudes and behaviors are focused towards an organization and can determine the overall productivity. There are several factors that contribute to an employee’s job satisfaction and they can vary between employees. In order for me to have complete job satisfaction, I feel that the most important factors are communication, job-specific training, benefits, relationships with co-workers and recognition from management.

I chose communication as my top priority for job satisfaction. I feel the current uncertainty with unemployment and economic downturn in productivity makes communication between management essential to employees. This give the employees some reassurance of job security and the direction the company is heading. Communication between employees can also identify strengths and weaknesses and allow management to offer feedback for making improvements. I believe communication is one of the most important aspects of a company because without communicating problems can erupt and bring negativity. By communicating effectively, management and employees are on the same page and understand their overall goals.

Job specific training is another factor in creating my job satisfaction because it provides the skills that allow employees to understand their roles and responsibilities and makes them more efficient. Having a better understanding of my job duties will lessen any confusion and increase productivity in all employees. This will decrease the stress in the work environment because every employee will know what is expected of them.

Benefits are another important factor in determining my job satisfaction. With the rising cost in healthcare, I believe it is important to have a good health plan because with my experience, some healthcare plans can be very costly.
