Should mobile phones be banned in schools?

The text we are dealing with s entitled « Should mobile phones be banned in schools? » this article is written by Patrick Barkham and Stephen moss and taken from the guardian online newspaper. According to some teachers and schools experiments and opinion, the author shares the reasons why the mobile phones should be allowed or banned. In fact, it develops the arguments about the use of mobile phones in schools. Therefore, mobiles phones have advantages that support their use in school as well as the disadvantages that should make it banned.

Firstly and for most, mobile phones in schools have advantages for students. This is a trusted device for them as it is in their own hand. Only the owner can manipulate it as it should be. So, the students can personalize their way of studying. Also, mobile phones are very useful for the students especially for their works. They can use their phones as an agenda to write down the works they have to do. Or according to a geography teacher, it helps students to go deeper into their researches and make their reports more interesting. A mobile phone is useful and helps the students to develop their works.

Secondly, allowing the use of mobiles phones may presents problems. There are people who cannot afford smartphones or use a lot of money on their smartphones. But the school can provide Wi-Fi and portable for the students to rent with the connection. Moreover, the mobile phones can be used improperly. The solution is to install a mobile device policy and control their access to the internet. In fact, the mobile phone have reasons to be allowed but in these conditions.

Thirdly, as we have noticed below, accepting the use of mobile phones present some disadvantages. It may disturb the students’ studies even if it is, in another side, good for them. Instead of working students can text to their friends, chatting on the internet or post their teacher’s pictures...
