Organizational behavior is an important thing to understand at any job. Its what makes all the workers be able to work together. In this paper I will evaluate organizational behavior as well as its key terms. These terms will include organizational culture, diversity, communication, business ethics, and change management. My overview will define and explain the components of organizational behavior to derive a further understanding of the subject.

According to Organizational Behavior, the tenth edition by John Schemerhom, James Hunt, and Richard Osbom, "organizational behavior is the study of human behavior in organizations. It is an academic discipline devoted to understanding individual and group behavior, interpersonal processes, and organizational dynamics with the goal of improving the performance of organizations and the people in them." (Hunt, Osbom, Schemerhom) Understanding organizational behavior is important because it is the entire work force in any and every organization ever. You will take place in it everyday and knowing what this is will benifet you as a worker and your job as an organization.

Oganizational culture affect how individuals behave within them. These cultures are defined as "the shared beliefs and values that influence the behavior of organizational members create." (Hunt, Osbom, Schemerhom) Different groups of people form different cultures, which will show different behavior. For instance doctors, nurses, and secretaries make up three different cultures at a hospital. People with the same jobs, and responcibilities will show similar behavior.

Diversity is the variation of people within an organization. America is said to be the most diverse nation in the world because we attract different people with different values, beliefs, religions, etc. Having a diverse staff is an advantage to a company because it allows more points of view and innovative thinking to solve problems and work efficiently.
