Introduction

Organizational culture refers to the behavior and values that form part of an organization unique and psychological environment. Organizations experiences, expectations, values as well as philosophy make up the organizational culture of a company. The organizational culture of a company is expressed in its inner working, its objective, interaction with other organizations and in its self image (Charan, 2006). Various researchers have come up with different culture typologies that help in identifying, measuring and managing cultures effectively, however in consideration to the purpose of this paper we are going to analyze the organization culture profile of the United States army.

The United States Army is the oldest and the biggest branch of the United States armed forces. It is one of the major branch of the United States armed forces and it is mandated with the responsibility of protecting the country from external attacks through land based military operations. The continental army is the root of the modern United States Army. The continental army was formed before the country was established in 1775 in order to satisfy the needs of the American revolutionary war. The United States army was formed on 3rd June 1784 after the continental army was disbanded this was after the end of the revolutionary war.

The United States army reports directly to the department of defense, the sole purpose of the army is to support operations hence its culture is based on members assisting one another.
