Group 5 presentation –
You are asked to present the case for a major investment programme. As well as outlining the financial aspects using all the investment techniques and tools you know of, you are also required to assess the qualitative issues especially any environmental and sustainability concerns that may arise. Please choose carefully a company (e.g. Oil exploration) which would put your case across perfectly.
1. Introduction
Fareast Organization is a property development group founded in 1960, by Mr Ng Teng Fong. He and his family migrated to Singapore from Putian, a village in China’s Fujian province when he was six years old and started a soya sause factory and grocery shop in Jalan Besar area. However he did not take over his family business and decided to strike on his own in 1950s. Fareast started with their first property project of a 72-unit terrace housing development at Jalan Pacheli in Serangoon Gardens area. He is known as “The King of Orchard” and also the richest man in Singapore.
Today, Fareast Organization is the largest private property developer, residential landlord and hospitality operator in Singapore. Far East Organization includes three listed entities: Yeo Hiap Seng Limited, Far East Orchard Limited and Far East Hospitality Trust.
